What does a really responsible raccoon have in common with a twisted toad, perplexed possum, and an overwhelmed owl?
More than you might imagine.

Rigsby is the story of a selfish scavenger turned dutiful do-gooder. He comes to the aid of his animal friends who suffer the side-effects of local litter.

 Purpose

Don't litter. Plain and simple. Keep trash where it belongs--in a garbage can.

Many people don't realize that if they throw a biodegradable apple core from the car it may not hurt the Earth but it will hurt an animal.

A hungry animal will smell the apple and find itself trapped on a busy road in pursuit of a taste treat.

 The Story

I created Rigsby nearly 8 years ago to teach children the harm of litter. Since I grew up with the likes of Woodsy Owl and Smokey the Bear, I wanted a character that todays' kids could love and learn from.

Rigsby was shared locally in Henrico and then adopted by Virginia as part of their statewide educational programs. Now, Rigsby is back online after a considerable makeover and he hopes to make a difference.

 Fun & Games

The site is currently under development along with the 3rd version of Rigsby to be published in January 2009.

Updates will include puzzles, an interactive flip book, cartoon, and special printables like stickers, bookmarks, and cards.

Contact me, Jenny B. Nutter, if you have any questions regarding the book or the site.
